Super Speech Star!

Our very own Mikayla has been travelling to different schools to tell about her Grandad!...... for her speech topic. Mikayla went up against other students at East Gore School and came in first place, round two involved her competing against other schools in the Gore community and came away with another successful win. Yesterday she competed in round 3 at the 'Interschools speech contest' and was placed second - she competed against 20 different schools!!
Amazing Mikayla!
Good Luck for next Thursday at the SOUTHLAND FINALS! (Our fingers are crossed)

Hockey Star!

Recently Millie from Kowhai has been away on a hockey tourament. The Eastern Collier A team travelled to Ashburton - they played 6 games and won 4 of the games, drew 1 and lost 1. The teams they were up against were from Canterbury.
They stayed at the Recency Motel - it had a 'cool down' pool - it was freezing. One brave girl managed to dive into the pool and for her brave effort got a bag of lollies!
What a cool experience.
Well done Millie!!

Daffodil Day

Thank you to all the families that supported Daffodil Day by donating a gold coin last Friday. It was exciting to see some familiar faces in The Ensign on Wednesday.
$131.60 was raised and has been deposited into the 'Otago and Southland Cancer' area account.

It was cool to see so much yellow and orange on Daffodil Day!

Well Done!!
